RIP Grandma Thomas

This past week I have been working through and learning how to say goodbye to my Grandmother 3000 miles away. She entered into eternal life just about 1 week ago, and tonight they are holding her viewing at the mortuary and tomorrow are having her funeral. My grandmother lived to be 94 years old. WOW!
I wish I was able to be back in New York to help the family with all the details, and to be of support to my father and uncles as they make arrangments, but I am not. I have decided to stay home and honor her here. To stay at home with my boys and keep them safe and healthy and comfortable and secure is what my dad said she would have wanted, so as hard as it has been staying back, I have some comfort in knowing that as she was a mother to 3 boys, she knows what is best in times like these.
Any prayers that you can offer to my dad as he is in the full swing of funeral planning is welcome!

You know my soldier's deployed when.....
I saw a similar list on www.milspouse.com, so I thought I'd make one for me.
You know my soldier's deployed when....
when my Skype is on 24/7.
when my facebook chat is on 24/7.
when you ask my 2.5 yr old where his daddy is and he answers "on boat" like that's a normal place to be.
when my cell phone is attached at to my hip.
when my children are attached to my hip.
when my dog is attached to my hip.
If you could ask my newborn where his daddy is?, he'd answers...Who?
when my car doesn't move from the drive way in over a week, the curtains are drawn and there are several empty wine bottles on the kitchen counter.
when tracking my husband on facebook, skype and online banking seem completely normal.
when the frig is empty and the freezer is full.
and lastly you know my soldier's deployed when my cell phone bill has overages on texting and minutes every month because I'm in denile about how much time I spend on the phone...and when he finally calls from overseas in the middle of the night, I really don't care about how much AT&T is gonna charge me.

Prayer request
Hi everyone, well, sorry that my blog has turned into a picture fest, but uploading pictures these days seems so much easier than getting my thoughts in gear and getting them typed out. Actually, I take that apology back, I am doing what I can when I can, and I shouldn't have to appolgize for that! I'm a military mama with 2 kids at home and daddy is gone, I'm actually proud of myself I have any time to spend on my blog.
So, speaking of busy military moms, I have a dear friend in North Carolina who is in need of some prayers, especially this week.
I'll call her "miss Kitty"! lol, don't worry God will know exactly who these prayers are for, believe me she is an unforgetable gal. I met "miss kitty" while we were in Florida for flight school, her husband is a Marine Pilot, and he too flys helicopters, just a different style. Just a few weeks ago, her husband returned home from a six month deployment, and just a few days ago got the news that he would be turning back around and be deployed again, but this time to Haiti.
Having the aviator deployed, this has brought so many thoughts to me that it is truly overwhelming, not to mention thinking about what "miss kitty" is experiencing. So, when you have 2 minutes today, will you please say a little prayer for her and her husband and their family.
In fact I'd also like to ask you to extend the praying a little(I mean what the heck you are already praying so just stay with it and keep praying) and pray for all the family's that are experiencing hardship at home, while their loved ones are out helping others.
